As much as they may tell you you’re now a grandma, it doesn’t really set in until you hold that grandchild in your arms for the first time. It’s one of the best moments you’ll ever experience, and nothing can really prepare you for it. It’s such a different situation from having your own kids, especially since the first meeting can come as a total surprise to you!
For the grandmother in the video below, this was a month in the making. She just didn’t know it! Her grandbaby was born in Japan, and this put a great distance between them. It was an obstacle that would have to be overcome, she just didn’t know how or when. But then, a ring at the doorbell…
When Grandma opens the door and sees the newborn at the steps, she’s in disbelief. She’s taken aback for a moment, and then all of the emotions hit her at once! It’s caught on video from two different angles so the family can cherish this moment forever. 🙂
She quickly grabs the carseat and makes her way inside where there’s light and she can see her grandchild properly for the first time. What a moment!
The kids tell Grandma the next surprise: She gets to babysit because they’re all going out to eat, to which she instantly replies, “I don’t care!” She’s so thrilled in this moment, babysitting is exactly the thing she wants to do. You have to love it!
