It’s a tough thing to live far away from the rest of the family, but sometimes that’s just where life takes us. But it makes the homecomings and reunions that much more special! And when it’s time to meet a new member to the family, it’s an exciting time to plan a big get-together for a proper greeting!

In the video below, we have a man named John who has lived in Australia for the past 10 years. And while there, he met his fiancee, Claire, and the couple recently had their first child, a baby boy named Niall. This made John’s parents first-time grandparents, and they were beyond excited to finally meet the 11-week-old child.

So the plan was to go back home to Ireland for the first meeting. John sent them a slideshow of baby and family pictures of precious moments together to tide them over and said they’d be arriving in a week. But little did the grandparents know their son, his wife, and their grandbaby were already there!

Just as the slideshow ends and Grandma goes to open the curtains back up, John and the little one come walking into the room. A whole week earlier than planned! To say they were caught off guard would be an understatement, and their reactions are everything! 🙂
